Sunrise Service aboard the Blind Hog - Aucilla 7/01

Post by caseycook »

Went out of Econfina on Saturday with my dad and a friend of his...went East and struggled all day...in short, it was slooooow. We fished in front of Hickory Mound and didn't catch much. Came home with 5 trout to 19".

Today had the privelege of fishing with Snatch-N-Reel. We went out of the Aucilla in hopes of findin more fish than we did yesterday. On the water by 6:10 a.m. Fishing by 6:25 a.m. My kind of trip. 10 minutes into the trip, I get a big hit on the topwater lure. 20" redfish. As I'm pulling the hooks out, SNR sets the hooks and brings in a fat 22" trout. A nice little double.

Continue fishing, both with topwater and TSS, and catch trout after trout.

Had our limit by 7:45 a.m. Stayed in between the Aucilla and the Econfina all day in less than 6 feet of water and caught a good number of fish. We had a lot of fun catching fish until around 11 a.m. and then we took her to the hill. The highlight of the day was convincing SNR not to keep his monster catfish.

We also discussed making our own fishing show (when we win the lottery). It will air on Sunday mornings and will be called, "Sunrise Service aboard the Blind Hog..." Maybe one day...

SNR, Had a great time...enjoyed watching you catch all the fish. Maybe I'll get lucky and get you in the draw...

Great day!
Just the opposite of my time on the water yesterday. :( I took a very inexperienced fisherman with me so I spent a lot of time helping him out. Which by the way is OK with me because I enjoy sharing my love of the water with those who don't get to go very often.

Thats the spirit Creech, nothing like showing newbies to the water we all love!! Just be sure you do what I do and teach em a little water courtesy and etiquette while youre teaching em to fish!!!

I searched for a while trying to find it, but couldn't...I was gonna call you from the water, but left the phone in the truck. I'll holla at you later with some questions.
