Offshore Carrabelle

Congrats to friend and Angler Chapin Frazee on his first ever billfish. What a way to catch a sail. Thanks to Chuck Stubbs ( Waterdog) for the great photos. I had just looked at digital cameras the night before but because they didn't have the cheaper Sony in stock at Best buy I decided it could wait. I mean it was just another Saturday on the water.

After an exciting (but unusual) catch on Saturday, our luck continued on Tuesday.

It was a full crew on "Sea Hunt" a 28' White Water owned by Marshal Hunt. He had his top managers down for a little R&R or so they thought. The weather was sunny and the seas were 1ft. A few live baits at the bouys were all we could find so off we went with plenty of dead baits. The AJ's were hopping early with approx 20 legal fish caught with all but a few released to fight again. The AJ's were hitting anything we dropped down, jigs, dead cigar minnows, diamond jigs. The men had a blast but It was time to move on to another species so off we went.

We went to a ledge not too far from where the sailfish took our hook days before. As soon as we were anchored and baits were down the fish started hitting the deck. The gags were eating squid and cigar minnows and they were hungry. Mutiple hookups and some big fish started hitting the deck. The biggest were 18, 16, and 15 pounds. Several snapper were released along with many 21" grouper. After an hour the bite was over and we made the run home with smiles abound.

Did I mention the other sailfish? To be continued............

I have some great pictures but I have yet to figure out how to add them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
