St Marks River 7/18 Mirrolure with Gulp Juice vs Zara Spook!

Took the canoe out to fish the sunset like I do almost every day. It was just a little windy when I got out there, but quickly calmed down. Other than being like 102 degrees with the heat index, weather was beautiful.

Started out with 'Old Faithful', a 4" Zara Spook. Got a couple hits but no hookups. Couple of them that I got a good look at were just ballyhoo. Believe I lost one bass on the Spook. I decided to switch to a suspending Mirrolure since the wind was creating juuuust enough chop to mess up the Spook action every now and then.

I figured, hey, might as well do this first:

So I let that simmer in the bag and threw out the spook a little while longer; no fish.

Finally switched over to the mirrolure, and on my second cast, this happened:

At this point, I realized my camera had once again done that thing they like to do where you turn them on at home to check the batteries and it claims they're full, then after taking one or two pictures it starts blinking and beeping at you and shuts itself off due to dead batteries.

After that pic, I got 2 more ladyfish in short order...yay. The gulp juice must surely have been wearing or worn off by then. I later caught a mediumish largemouth bass, and right before dark one slot trout and one red too big to keep, about 30" give or take. I'd like to thank Vivitar and Duracell for the pics of those...

In conclusion, number of fish on spook without gulp juice:0 number on gulp-soaked Mirrolure: 6 - but with the disclaimer that the longer it was since it was in gulp juice, the better the quality of the fish got. Coincidence?!?!?

P.S. - I originally tried to do this comparison a few days ago with an orange and blue Mirrolure, but realized the fish were vomiting when they saw those two colors combined, and thus not hooking up.

haha ROFL. The only claim I'm makin here is that *if* gulp juice made a difference on this trip, it was prolly only for garbage fish, thus pffffbt! on Gulp.
