Got invited to do some bottom fishing on Saturday :D
I'm told we are fishing for snapper and grouper.
He has a few pin fish traps to check so we will be fishing with some live bait
And we are picking up Ly's and Squid.

Cant stand to go without some back up tackle.
Give me some recommendations...
Hooks- style and size?
Weights - what size?

How about those pre-rigged "Chicken Rigs"?

Any other suggestions on bait?

Thanks fellas....

by What a mess
I fish longer leaders than most 6' - 12' for grouper I like 80 lb. power pro.
I use heavier sinkers than many 8 - 12 oz in water deeper than 75'
I also like big hooks #9 circle I pay the extra for jap hooks.
80 - 100 lb fluoro leaders
I like big baits hand size pink mouth. Full size pinks buterflied.
Boston Mackeral are good. Big pin fish.
The longer leader will help give the fish chew time.
If you use circles don't jerk if you can't stop jerking use a j hook.
