I've created a monster, I can't even clean the boat one evening and leave for work early without Lil Chalk checking to see if the boat is gone :-D .

Got up around 6:00 made some coffee and loaded the rods and tackle in the boat. Had to go and nudge Lil Chalk out of his bed. Got some coffee and we headed off for a day of fishing in the mighty St. Andrews bay.

I had gotten some good intel (180 caught :o ) on some trout....so we were off to find some trout. I launched the Ghostrider and me and Lil Chalk sped across the bay to Location X  .

We come off plane and start fishing around, it was overcast and I couldn't see what type of bottom I was fishing...turned out to be sand later in the day, no fish there.

We catch a few short trout and I'm real close to the shore, so we start looking for reds...I tied on a topwater plug and started throwing it around and started catching some nice trout. Lil Chalk is throwing a jig...I look over and his rod tip is bouncing...I say what do you have, boy? Lil Chalk caught his first official trout by himself today :-D  .

We continue to pick up trout as we work along the bank...They were hitting topwater, hard jerk bait and oval CT's.

We fished until 12:30 and decided to call it a day...We ended up with 20 or so trout...biggest was 21" and caught around 10 that were 18" to 21". I had a good one on for a few seconds...I saw one that would have eaten that one, it was a hoss....I hooked a lil dink trout and it had 4 other trout with it, two that were bigger...one of the bigger ones took the plug from the lil dink

I have been keeping tabs on fish activity and the feed charts on my GPS. Today the a good time was around 10:30. Just like clock work, that's when the fish started chewing real good and the bait started getting active.

Going back in the morning with the long pole, I have a severe case of DRB (Deadly Redfish Buildup) that I need to cure

Awesome day on the mighty gulf with my son, doesn't get any better than that

No pics, the camera is still broke :smt010

Chalk, could you share tomorrow's feed charts from your GPS? :D

Not your fishin' holes, just the times..... 8)

But if you are in a reel good mood, and want to share the holes too...... :-D

Good times for today was 10:48 am to 11:48 am and the Best Times were 4:37 am to 6:37 am & 4:50 pm to 6:50 pm

Tomorrow:

Best times are 5:18 am to 7:18 am and 5:33 pm to 7:33 pm
Good Times are 11:29 am to 12:29 pm

Fall/Winter/Spring I have confidence in fooling my quarry...Summer and the heat, I think following those feeding times and being in the right place is essential to success.

The times for Econfina are only a 7 minutes earlier

Glad you are taking the boy- I have some great memories with my dad.

Good trip Chalk, awesome for the Lil' man! I figured I must have something in common with you other than knowing absolutely more than everyone else about fishing, boating, and everything generally outdoors :smt005 (Thankfully the good lord only chooses a few of us to be outdoor marvels). I also use my time feed charts from the Gps. I get all my tide and current info there, too.
