Anode alignment?

THe bold holding my anote in place came lose and its moving from side to side now. I want to torque the bolt back down but I forget how to align this thing. It wasn't straight-on from the dealer... it was offset to one side - but I forget which side... Any ideas?
Yamaha 90 2stroke btw.

I think you're going to have to run it straight. I'm pretty sure which ever way your boat wants to pull, you turn the anode to that side. Of course, I'm a mechanical idiot so take it for what its worth.

Probably 10-15 degrees to to the right. You might want to take a wrench with you next time you go scalloping and adjust the fin till the wheel no longer pulls to the right. It might take a few adjustments, but once you find the sweet spot, you'll know it.

I know this may sound dumb, but have you got any old pictures of your boat from the rear? Or maybe a buddy does....
If so you can see which way it goes..
I am betting a little to the right if viewed from the rear to make it run true...

yep. a hair to the right. you'll have to fine tune later though.

How does the fine tuning work? Rotate anode toward or away from the pulling side? Nothing in my owners manual about this.

Move anode in the opposite way it pulls to correct pulling of wheel.

My anode is flat. You may be able to tell a little difference but after you trim up a little prop torque will go away. But if you must adjust it somehow move it to the right.

Thans guys.
That bolt is down in a hole with no direct line of view. My 12mm socket worked best if anyone searches this in the future.

Atticus,
The proper way to align the anode is as follows:
Leave it lined up right in the center. Tighten it down.
Operate your boat and see if the steering wheel tries to turn in either direction by itself. If you have steering torque to the right then stop and loosen your anode. Turn the trailing edge to the direction that it was pulling by a few degrees. If it pulled to the left then move the trailing edge of the anode to the left by a few degrees. Operate the boat and see if it continues to pull. If it still pulls but not as much then loosen it and move it some more in the original direction. If it begins to pull in the opposite direction then move it back you wnet too far. You should be able to let go of the wheel (not recommended for safety reasons) and the bot should track straight without any pull to either direction. That's it!
