Lanark 7-28-07 another newbie..................

Dropped the boat in at 6:15 at Lanark Village was greeted by WSW wind so got out of the channel and head back to the east to do some more exploring around Turkey Pt. Shoal and DI reef however it was a little windy in the bay it was a pleasant ride actually made the day pleasant. Fished several spots around the shoal nothing but shorts. So headed out tp find some new ground around DI reef, first cast put first keeper in the box. Had a newbie to trout fishing with me so tried to fish and play guide, none the less here's the outcome fished in anywhere from 4 to 7 feet. Back on the trailer and headed home by 11:30 am. Great day on the water.

Nice catch, I never have kept the bluefish we catch because I don't know how to cook them. How do you cook your bluefish, would like to try them sometime.

Just trying for the first time probaly fried from what I've found out.

Let us know how they taste, I have seen them poached in condensed milk on TV, looked good, was thinking of trying one next time I catch one.

Biggest thing I could notice is the texture difference compared to trout, wife described it as courser meat. Not bad after all.

No need for any fighting cause there's plenty of 'em in the big pond. I just kept 3 we caught probaly 12 to 15 that were legal.

Bleed them as soon as you catch them, ice them down good, and cut out the red meat before you cook it. They are good to me.

Yeah that's what I do with them.
