Looked at the tides for Sat. mourning and the high was around 10:30 so I new it was gonna be a quick in and out for us especially with the heat. We should have left a little earlier than we did because when we got to the first area the mullet were already working the place over pretty good. I hadn't been to this area since Chalk and I hit it late summer last year so I didn't know what to expect. We stayed with topwaters the whole time and it seemed to work so why change. First one in the boat and he had five buddies with him that followed him to the boat! things were looking good.


We worked the same shoreline all morning and the bite was never fast a furiuos but it was consistent. Seemed every oysterbar and point had a solitary red on it.

We finished the day around 10-10:30 with a 27" and 19" for the box. Total was 5 slot reds.

Sunday my BIL and his neighbor Frasier Bowen from Richmond Hill, Ga. and I headed back out to the same general area, except this time about 45 min earlier. Sunday proved that just because one bait worked one day it may not work the next. Same place, same time, same tide everything. Eric, my BIL did catch the first two reds on the day about 7AM to get the stink out of the boat with the topwater.

We all stayed with the topwater for a while but the grass that was pushing in with the tide was making it nearly impossible. Since the water was near gin clear I tied on a spoon and worked the bars and potholes over pretty good. We had our three man limit by 9 AM of 19" 23" and a nice tourney fish of 26.75". Biggest of the day was this sweet 29" red on the spoon and a medium/lite rod. He circled me around the boat a few times.

Total for the day was 7 reds 6 slot.

I'll take 2 half days like that any time.

Wasn't Saint Marks according to my tide info. High's for Sat were forcasted to be 2:48 am and 1:32 PM.

Not really, but it is part of it. I spent alot of time finding these out of the way places with alot of fishless days. Given that there is only one ramp within 20 miles of this area and that there is only one or two places that look like the backgrounds in the photos, makeing it easy to locate for any lurker on the site, no I don't want to say where I put in. It's not like I was just drifting the grass flats out in front of the lighthouse or some other non discript place. However, If you want to go fishing let me know And I'll do better than telling you where it is we'll go fish it. We may not catch a single thing but we'll give it a try. Can we be friends again now

In general- this isn't about just BH or this thread-

Why waste the time to post a 'report.'? Without at least the name of the ramp or body of water a user fished I do not understand the need for a thread but I assume its an ego booster.

To my knowledge there exists no other fishing site that would let users get away with that - because its a cheesy form of self-satisfaction and a waste of time.

In the past here, several posters on this board have lied about where they fished or just didn't say. These members should have saved their pictures, shared them among their buddies or put their pictures in "Fishing" and get patted on the back over there.

The fact that people don't call them out on it every time doesn't mean they aren't reading and rolling their eyes. When I read that kind of stuff, I for one, lose a ton of respect for the poster.

If you fish a secret or special spot - and you did good but don't want to share specifics - just don't create a thread about it. Its not that hard. Email your pics to your friends or something. But IMHO members shouldn't be allowed to cloud a fishing reports board because they like to see their pictures on the internet while they expect others to be private investigators in figuring out where they fished.

Yeah I would love to fish "Location X" - let me know. Long drive for me though.
