The Ecky report according to Bad Behavior 7/29-7/30
Posted: July 31st, 2007, 9:11 am
Called late Saturday evening to Ecky and got a room when I saw that I would be able to head down with my buddy for a couple of days. I had been talking with Creech for a few weeks to put together a trip and he rode down for a 1/2 day trip Sunday. Put in around 6:30 and went for the reds. After a small schooling by Creech in the red department, we head out around 9:00 am or so. To deep water, action kind of slow to start , wound up the morning with my buddy Joey catching his biigest trout to date, 23". Creechman had to get home early so around 12:00 we ran in and dropped him and the fish off. Had a great time fishing with you Creech and look forward to hitting the water again soon. Creech knows how to handle himself on a boat and could have seriously worn the Captain's arse out if he hadnt of had to gone in early! Joey and I hit the river wide open and dont pull out of it until we hit 14 ft of water. Fishing was a little slow and wound up the day with a total of 50 or so trout , 17 could have kept. Caught some fat blues , piles of rockbass, joltheads, and a world record lizard fish. Headed in around 7:30 to find a negative tide had come early. I would have taken pictures but I was too busy holding thne throttle and jack plate switch !!! I never knew BB would run WOT jacked all the way up but she did! Got to the ramp and who was there?? Two big guys in green suit holding a big measure stick!! After a quick check of our fish, we were shown how much a trout can shrink. We had one right at 15. The ranger were cool and said they knew how they can shrink. What really sucked was that we threw a 19" fish back when we recounted before we came in. My buddy had just caught it and we recounted to make sure we had limit. On to day two, on the water by 7:00 and it was time for the BB school of redfishing. Taught class for a short while and headed out with a 22" red in the box. No wind and really hot so we head out. Dont let up until 10 feet. Bam, 22 " trout. Bam 20" trout, Bam 21" trout. Fished until around 12:00 when it got slow and my buddy started talking about he had never really caught a shark.(Only his third flats trip) Tied on a big pinfish though it out under a Ct and headed towards the sand. Two four footers and a three foot spinner later, he was ready for some more trout. Would up the day limited again, many more rockies, more blues, more stinking lizards. 50-60 trout total , several 15 1/4 but not taking any chances! Shortest fish day two was 16.5. All in all great days and awesome fishing. Wound up with a crazy box of fish and good times with good folks. Appreciate the fun Creech and Joey!! I enjoyed it!
