Keaton Beach Fri 7/27

This is a secondhand report from my preacher buddy in Gainesville.

He and I had fished the Friday before and everyone was saying "the trout are in 8 to 10 feet," but all we got there were dinks. The keepers were in 5 to 7. So for what it's worth:
Launch: at Keaton
Depth: 5 to 7
Bait: Gulp shrimp
He's lying already. This guy has no friends.I went to KB last Friday with a friend of mine from church.
The weather was dark and rainy, but very cool for July. We caught fish off and on all day, but most where 14-141/2 inches. On one cast, I hung what I thought must be a shark. But, when I got it to the boat I realized it was a trout. I nearly had a mild stroke! My friend managed to get it in the net. It was 241/2 inches long, making it the second largest trout I have ever caught! To say I was exited would be an understatement. About 10 minutes later, I caught a 20 inch trout. We only caught 6 that we could keep, but those 2 were great. We did catch a nice flounder and a cobia that was only 25 inches long.
It stayed cloudy all day. The water was clear, but there was a lot of floating grass. We caught nearly every fish we caught on Gulp bait and pinfish in 5-7 feet of water.
