I had the pleasure of spending last week in the North Carolina mountains with these 3 ladies.
The highest temperature we had all week was 78 degrees. Sure was hard to come back to this heat.

This is a local waterfall called Slippery Rock. The water they're in is about 60 degrees.
That is algae on the rocks. It was very slick. There were a bunch of kids sliding down the fall. When they hit the cold water in the pool at the bottom it would take their breath.
We spent Friday afternoon at the Georgia Aquarium, in Atlanta. If you've never been, it's well worth the trip.

I don't know if it's black mountain. It's about 2 miles south of Cashiers.

Go on line and purchase your tickets in advance. The ticket line, as well as the line to get in, get long.

It's well worth the trip.
