Had a buddy bring me some Iowa corn on the cob from his recent trip home. Was wondering if anyone has any good tips for cooking them on the grill? Only had them boiled.

Leave them in the husk and grill away....or you can clean and silk the cobs and wrap them in tinfoil, with some butter and salt. Then grill them :lick:

You should probably bring them to Panama City and we can take care them over some grilled redfish and an adult beverage

Look forward to that, Partner. Just hope we can manage it quicker than we did getting together for a fishing trip.

Man, the Wilson's put a hurting on some steaks, salads and brown rice tonight.

Highlight of the meal was the fresh Iowa sweet corn my buddy brought us. Soaked in brine for about 2 hours, then threw on the grill (in the husk). My daughter, who at 17 is coming into her own as a cook, made a butter mixture with fresh garlic and chives. I like corn, but can't remember a time I liked it this much. :lick:

Yep gotta love northern sweet corn. I just got back from a week in NW Pennsylvania last week and really enjoyed the fresh picked sweet corn. Even simply boiled its better than anything I can find down here in FLA.

:o Too late now. We pulled the husks back and went after it. Any health issues with eating the worm? I think I'll keep this latest bit of information from my wife and daughter for the time being.

I've used tinfoil, but lately I husk and brush the ears and brush with garlic butter while grilling. I have all my neighbors doing the same!

:o I would say that is like drinking Tequila with the worm in the bottle...bottoms up & enjoy! Besides, the worm was just more protein...some places consider that a delicacy!

Try a bit of fresh cilantro in the garlic butter for the corn next time, very tasty.
