The family and I got on the water around 9:00 a.m. Scalloped hard for a couple of hours without much luck. we found 40 or 50 scallops but never any real concetrations.










Then the riff-raff started showing up ......................

Ron Wilson and his family joined in the fun....his new pup was a big hit with my kids



Its was great to see everybody on the water, we should do that more often.

The highlight of the day (and I really hate I didn't have the video camera going) was watching Jumptrout step off his pontoon boat into what he thought was 4 foot of water, that actually turned out to be about 6 foot of water, and watching him claw the side of the boat like a scared dog when he floated his hat. He kept his beer held high though.

Can't wait til next time.

That looks like an absolute blast BD. Hope mine love the water as much as yours do. I'm surprise JT didn't scare off the kids though

Had a good time, BD. It was good seeing you and your family, JT and meeting Sea Trout. BTW. Stopped by Shell Shack and picked up a couple pounds of scallops.....gorged myself last night.

Lots of fun,have to do it again soon, how bout the way BD trolls for scallops.

Yep....the kids love the trolling thing. And before anyone says it I didn't use the outboard only the trolling motor.

Sorry I missed you guys; Sunday was about the only day I didn't launch in SJB. Looks like ya'll had a good time. I would have really to meet Ron and his new pup. He was a great help when I was in search of Boo.

Saturday we lauched from EH and put a whoppin' on some reds, up to 32". Saturday night we ran offshore to about 90' but couldn't find the car bodies or any other structure. Neat to be offshore at night, a new experience for me, but it was slow. Sunday we launched out of IP in search of the tarpoon that were there last month, but they seem to have moved on. Did manage to find some shallow water reds. Monday we were back in the Bay, but launched from Presnell's. Again more reds than trout which suprised me.

Did you guys have any trouble getting around with the low water? we thought about scalloping but couldn't find enough water to lay down in all weekend.

Tuesday I launched out of Lanark to get an idea of the carabelle/lanark area. Stopped by the Moorings but thought the $20 cover was a little steep. No discount for being a club member.

Lanark was a nice change of pace and I managed to find some trout in preperation for the tourney. All was going well until my boat got rear-ended on the way home. Luckily only a prop was damaged (on my end), and it appears she is very respectible lady is going to cover it without involving insurance etc. What else would expect from someone with Seminole license plates! Mechanic promised my boat back by Friday.

That is something that I have never done. What do they look like on the bottom? Do they run from you??

At St. Joe they actually are down in the sand and difficult to see. At St. Marks they sit on top of the grass and blink at you with 100 blue eyes.

They do try to get away sometimes and I have had them swim up in the water column.
