Got out on the flats around 1:00 P.M.
Fished out from the lighthouse about 1 mile and drifted east about 2 miles toward the rock garden.
Caught 5 trout in excess of 16 inches and one that measured 26 inches!
Most were caught off live shrimp with a Cajun Thunder with the big one hitting a 4 inch pink/yellow grub. Landed about 30 trout total between 13 and 16 and 2 keeper spanish.

good report! :D :D I have not fished the east flats at all yet. but the more I read here the more I think I need to broaden my horizons. The west flats are just so convenient to where we stay in Shell Point village.

We went Sunday, had a good time.
caught 18 inch trout, 1 blue 1 spanish
we also went in the afternoon.
An extra bonus, since the FS show on Saturday
my 12 yo can tie a uni-knot and a loop knot.
It's nice now to have two bait boys on board.

the bite for us didn't really start until the tide changed at 1:20 yesterday. Then it was on, for the shorts mainly.
