Furuno GPS No Power ?

Post by Parrothead »

I have a Furuno GP-31 GPS unit. Its a little on the old side but have been happy with it. But now it's not getting power. I think it might be the power cable because its corroded on some of the pins. Where can I take it to see if it is the power cord or if it's the unit itself. Thinking West Marine but looking for suggestions.
Thanks

west marine doest sell furuno products anymore...only garmin and lowrance. they can still special order products from furuno, but it will take atleast three weeks for the item to come in. if you do go ask for JD he'll take care of you.

Best bet would be to check the fuse on the power cord. Then use a voltage meter to test the cable. If the cable is good then it is time to upgrade. Maybe a buddy has the same unit or someone on this board has one.
