20 years later, my first bow buck

Got up early Monday morning and headed to my farm. Got in my stand and had a deer about twenty yards to my right in some thick under brush. About twenty minutes later the turkeys showed up to partake in some of the mass acorns in the bottom I was hunting. About eight or so, had a doe with two spotted fawns show up. Watched them as they went down the draw Im hunting and looked off to my right again. I noticed a patch of brown moving and as it passed a large oak, I realized it was a buck. After standing, steadying, and getting off a true double lung shot, the nerves took over and I almost fell out of the stand. I had to sit there for a good ten minutes to gather myself as this was my first deer ever with a bow. I have now taken a deer by gun, crossbow, muzzleloader, pistol, and bow. He only ran ten yards before meeting his demise. I would be glad to show pics , however my good friend Heath from SGO,took the pictures on his camera phone and forgot to save them. Oh well, wasnt a great buck, a young eight point, but my first bow kill non the less. Awesome day for me!! I cant wait till the weather and tides calm so I can start my creek assaults on them fat trouts and reds!!! Good hunts and tight lines till next post. Go GATORS!!!!

Buck fever? Now you need to kill one with a knife, then your bare hands what about a sling shot or a boomerang? :o

You left out your pick up I know why you like them big brush guards. 8)

Go get you some Trout & Redfish then you can have surf and turf. :lick:

So trouser trout screwed you on the photos you need to get a better caddy to tote your stuff and get your Kodak moments. :smt014

Double lung shot. Deer only went 10 yards. I'd say that was at least a GREAT experience. Some folks hunt all their lives and can't know how it feels. (including me!) :D Congratulations.
