Got together with a buddy of mine from church and decided to spend the morning fishing. We put in at the Fort and ran out in the dark this morning to the bird rack. The wind was kicking up but we decided to try topwater. Mike got the first fish of the day.

By this time we had thrown everything we had at them (CT, jerk bait, spoon, spinner) and decided to stick with top water. I soon followed up with a small trout.

A few more drifts are we were tired of fighting the wind. We decided to head a little shallower and get some cover from the ENE wind. It was a good choice.
Mike put a nice trout in the boat.

I followed up shortly after with the first Red sighting of the day. I had one hit my lure at the boat but I didn't set the hook in time and he was gone. After that it was on.
First Red in the boat

We caught more trout, some keepers some shorts.

This was the fish of the day.

27 inch Red Fish. He hit my bait and it was off to the races. Chased him down, put him in the boat, took a picture and sent him back with the hope of seeing him later when he has grown a little more.
Great day on the water.
