Left the house a little after 8 this morning. Launched at the fort and headed east to fish the rising tide.

Worked my way to the bank and started riding the east wind. Picked up half a dozen reds, 16" to 25", along the bank. While working the bank the wind turned out of the south. So, I rode the wind into a creek. Picked up three more reds, 19" to 22", in the creek. Went back out of the creek and started working the bank again. The bite slowed down on the high tide, and the wind was blowing me directly into the bank. So I headed out to some decent bottom in about 4' of water (there was plenty of water on the high tide today). Drifted back in and caught 13 trout, mostly shorts. The biggest was 18". By this time the tide had started moving pretty good. Started working the bank again. Didn't do much until I got to a creek mouth. Then the bite was on. (different creek, Birddog). I stayed in the mouth of the creek until it got too shallow to stay in there. Caught 23 reds in 1.5 hours. Got out while the getting was good and headed for the fort. Back on the trailer at 6:15.

There was a lot of floating grass today. Couldn't do much with topwater. Most of the reds were caught on a spoon. All of the trout were caught on a soft jerk bait.

I love it when the reds are in the creek mouths. :-D

Can't wait to do it again.
