After 2 months of not getting any fishing in due to work.And the weather suppose to be nice I hook up the boat and head toward the coast.Get to the ramp at 9:00 and notice the wind a blowing.I get the boat ready to put in the water and the guys that pulled there boat out and were unloading dive tanks told me "you going out in that(reffering to my 20ft cape horn)you will never make it ha ha ha"Anyways I look a the trees and seen that Ive been in worst.I put the boat in make my way to the end of channel where I passed a lot of boats coming in.Get to the tripod and look at the gps and see what holes I can get to with getting the less beating and slowly head on out.I got to 30ft mark and send the trolling rigs out caught one 23"gag right off.After an hour and nothing more we tried drift fishing a little where i got a nice size spanish.By this time the wind and seas relaxed a bit so I took a run to the wakulla reef.There we caught a few small aj's fished there till around 4:00 with nothing more.Then I decided to go father east to hole that I knew had Fish because I dove it awhile back.Got there no show on the fishfinder dropped the cigar minnows different story one after the other 3-4 at a time.Caught at least 15-20 red grouper from 20"to27"with a gag every now and then that would be followed to the surface by more.After the excitement we call it the day and made our way back as the sun set over oclocknee Bay on flat seas.Cape horns may be a wet riding boat but they are very stable when it comes to rough seas Ive had mine 6-7fter and never felt unsafe just wet but nothing a good rainjacket can't fix.oh yeah found some new holes and was back before the race started.
