Gulf County Tourney Report

Post by Speardivertampa »

Did very well in the gulf county tournament last weekend. Waters were pretty rough sat and very nasty sunday. Spent one day spearing deep south of Indian Pass and spent the second day spearing local spots off of carabelle. The whole day sunday we were surrounded by coast guard and fwc vessels, planes, and choppers looking for the sunk cobia boat. We really found the fish with numerous big grouper up to 45lbs gutted, hogs to 15lbs, cobia, 8lb lobsters dropped at the boat :smt010 , nice snaps, big jacks and cudas, and great food and prizes at the tourney. The best fish concentrations seemed to be in 130-160 with many cobia seen in that depth as well. Are they usually that far offshore??? Anyway it was a great tourney and we ended up with top male, female, and freediver as well as the top spots and most of the categories.

Nice fish and congrats on the winnings.
