Spring Warrior 10/26/2007

Got off work about 3:30 and hightailed it home. Been thinking about going fishing all day. My 16 y.o. decided he wanted to come. Surprised me a little after the rough time we had last Sunday, I thought maybe that would've turned him off a little from fishing. We packed up some fried chicken and water to eat on the boat, hooked up and made the 10 minute trip to the Warrior. We were on the water by 4:30.
Set up a drift in about three foot of water that drifted us by the bars, which I knew from past experience held our quarry, redfish and gator trout.
We both used softplastics. Chartreuse and root beer/ gold flake in the 4-5" sizes. Color really did not seem to make a difference. Caught a slew of short trout, black bass, a flounder that barely escaped the frying pan by about an inch. My son caught his first redfish ever, which also escaped the fry pan due to his 16" stature. He sure was fun to net and watch being reeled in.
We ended up with two keeper reds before watching the sun set and heading in ourselves. Back at the ramp around 7:30. Can't think of a better way to end the day and the week.
In my rush to get to the ramp, I left the camera at home. I took pictures with my phone, but am having problems e-mailing them to myself. I get messages saying the computer will not accept them.
But this is a picture from when we got home.
