Econfina 11/9

Took yesterday off (Friday) to knock the dust and cobwebs off the boat. We put in, or at least tried to put in, at Econfina around 9:30. I have a 17ft. Cape Horn, so we had to wait over an hour to have enough water (low tide around 8:30) to launch and clear the mouth.
Finally we made it out after another 30 minutes idling out of the river and started fishing gulf side points and bars. There was not one cloud in the sky, beautiful! But, the wind was steady and cool so after an hour of frustration we decided to move into the creeks. We rotated between spoons, top water and plastic jigs of assorted colors under CTs all day.
For about an hour and a half we had some luck and finished with 4 reds (1 - 19" and 3 puppies), a trout (16") and a flounder (14"). We had few other bites besides the fish we landed and had all of our luck with jigs. Sorry no pics, once we finally hit the bite we had been so frustrated that we were just too selfish to even take the time for photos!
