how old is it?I have taken a few of them apart installed new steering cables and rewired replaced switches ect...Motor guides are some times hard to Identify I.E year, model and so fourth because the name motor guide had been owned by a couple of different companies but you can find it if you look real hard. check out this link, Click here..this will get you started..Most folks will tell you it is cheaper to replace one then to fix it but this is usually not the case ..it may be a little aggravating but often you save money...If you get in to it I will help in any way I can..

there should be a set screw on the foot, you can loosen it up and turn the foot to match the controller.
