Looks like the pinfish will be gone soon. Where can I find quality live shrimp. I know the marina sells them but was a little dissapointed last weekend with the size - I use 4/0 hooks and quite a few we got were smaller than the hook. Do the tackle shop in Perry sell live shrimp? What about the now open bait&tackle shop between Perry and Keaton? Thanks for your help.

Wisons in perry does and they have good prices on fishing tackle and ice.

Also handy with tips and just plain ole really nice folks.

No I am not on commission there, I just really do like them and appreciate them being there brite and early.

I guess they go to school as I see them bunch up in a few places as opposed to scattered on the flasts like in the summer. Or may be they go to deeper and warmer water? I dont know. Perhaps someone here can answer this question. This is only my second season fishing the flats.

There were plenty of small pins Friday over at Aucilla, we caught a bunch on sabiki rig. But the trout didn't want 'em. We were in 2-4 ft. of water. You should still be able to catch your own, give your son the bait pole and I bet he can find some.

The bait are still around but not as abundant as in the summer. We drifted for more than an hour without getting a single bite. Do they just dissapear in the winter?

BTW, you got that backward. My son usually tells me to catch bait so that he can catch trout.

It is my guess that they go to deeper water or up rivers and creeks where the temps are more stable. My guess is they go to deeper water, which maybe one reason the groupas come shallower during the winter.
