Holy Smokers

Post by Dubble Trubble »

The wife and I put in Dubble Trubble at Econfina this morning at 9:30 am. Got busy looking for some pinfish to use for bait for those groupas.... :-D

Found a few and headed out to some holes to see what was cookin'.

First Blood was this nice 29 inch gag.

Then it was time for some fun. We hooked this King, and both had about 5 minutes of fun each wearing him down. He was very upset to have a stretch 25 imbedded in his upper lip.

He put up a good fight, and deserved a quick release back to fight again one day.....

The wife got to see her first sea turtle, and we had a pair of big porpoises hang around the boat while we were eating lunch.

Words of warning. When trying to cover up your grouper with ice in the chest, rake the ice in the SAME direction the dorsal fins go....

Wonderful day on the water. Wound up with 3 gags, 29, 25 and 23". All were caught trolling. Never got a hit on the pinfish.

It was 1 to 2's in the am, and flat on the way back in. WOT back to the landing. Loaded up at 5, drove home, grouper in the freezer, and a nice warm shower....
