The forecast was too good to stay home on Friday so a co-worker and myself decided to run out of Keaton to a few numbers I had. Pulled out of the marina @ 8:00am. The ride out to spot 1 in 28 ft was a little cool and pretty foggy at times but not too badl. We put out a couple Stretch 25`s about a 1/4 mile from spot one and get a knockdown immediately, nice Red grouper on the pinfish colored stretch, put the lines back out and about the time we troll over spot one the bottom machine lights up pretty good, no takers on the stretch`s after a couple passes so we decided to turn back to anchor down and see what was home, fished cut LY`s, squid and live pins to catch 2 more nice fat red groupers( hard to return that one

) 6 gags, several BSB and several pretty nice pmg`s ,these were caught within a 30 minute period

, we fished another hour and didnt get a keeper ? guess it was naptime

? we hit 2-3 more numbers out to 55 ft of water with little success, only an occasional ymg or undersized gag, we ran back to a number in 45 ft and finished out the limit on gags and added a few more nice bsb.Since it was still early we fished a while longer and threw back 4 more keeper gags from this spot. The ride in was like a pond, 23 miles to the hill @ 47 mph didnt take long. I love my Bayboat.Forgot to bring the camera on this trip but I did snap a pic of my half of the groupers when I got home, I`ll try and post later.Day was suppose to be a trollin day but turned out to be a better bottom fished day. Two keepers trolling, the rest on bottom rigs. Most of the day was spent bottom fishing however. Fish bit all baits but seemed to prefer cut LY`s.
