Wickedly Wacking them at Warrior

I put a couple new trolling motor batteries in the What a Mess vessel and headed to Quitman to gather my ship mates for the day.

First timer Chug Bug (AKA Thug Bug you had to see the knit hat and glasses to get it) had gone the day before and got no love from the fishes, :smt012

Repeat offender Redbelly had been there Saturday with me and my brother in law Frank and had great expectations.

After stocking up with a few more silver and black Bite A Baits at Wilsons in Perry we dropped her in the creek at Spring Warrior.

With both on the bow we were able to creep out (redneck Jackplate) 1st stop was out from the tripod with no love there.

We ran back to where we left them biting Saturday and it was a little slow at first but we found them closer to the grass.

We had the good / bad fortune of having to release a bunch of Trout over the slot and a slew of Reds under the slot.

It was about as good as it gets, I think Chug Bug and Redbelly got hit by the fever both are in suck up mode trying to get a kitchen pass to go again today.

I on the other hand just bowed up and told my wife I would go if I dang good and well wanted to she said Ok. :o

As long as it wasn't today, tommorrow or the next day. Who's butt do you have to kiss where to get a kitchen pass? :smt010

At the cleaning table there were ten jumbo Trout three Reds and in the end a mound of filets, They hit on top water also and on my new secret bait. ;-)

We also heard those words that got me my screen name "What A Mess of fish where the heck did you catch all them at what were they biting" etc..

We stopped at Pappa Jim's Oyster Bar in Perry Redbelly is tuff to please he grew up working in a family resturant, he was happy as could be it was great. :lick:

I have a tuff time trying to figure which was better.....the fresh fried mullet and oysters in the shell or that 24" trout!

I have decided catching was more fun but eating is more tasty :lick:

All I can say it was great....the barge is nice to fish off of....and TOP DOG JR! :-D

Waking my daughter again to see if she really wants to go today. The fish are ON FIRE!

Thanks for the ride WAM. It was good meeting you Redbelly... I got the kitchen pass easy enough but the man call and I gotta go to work today. Probably leave around noon. If he didn't call I'd be headed to the coast to get some E. Coli on the boat. :-D

Next weekend is looking good. I might get the "flu" this week too.
