After my post on the internet yesterday, WAM and Redbelly were kind enough to take me along to the Warrior today. Met up at Wilson's around 10 a.m., got a quick bite to eat and headed to the boat ramp. Put the boat in the water and ran over to where WAM's been power-slamming them lately and found out that the cold weather had screwed things up. We moved around all over the place and ended the day with four redfish, two which kept to 23". Caught on jigs and grubs and Ty Smithing another type of Gulp in shallow water around oyster bars. It was tough fishing, but I enjoyed the day fellas and thanks for letting me tag along.

I'd called JR Dice yesterday afternoon to see if he might want to fish the tourney today. He called me back this morning around 8:30 to see if I still wanted to fish it... : :-?...a little late. I told him that I'd already hooked up with a couple folks to go with and he ended the call by saying, "Aight man, I'm gonna go catch about a six pounder here in about thirty minutes." I called him from Wilson's after we were done and he said, "Hold on man, I wanna show you something, I'll be there in a sec." JR drove up to Wilson's and pulled out a monster 28" trout that was fat as hell. JR caught it on a grub and said that he'd spent a long time trying to revive it, but that the fish kept rolling belly up when he'd let go of it in the water. So he kept it and I took a picture. The Diceman knows where fish hide.

After reading a few other fishing forums and getting some cool ideas from other folks, I want to try and keep track of the number of trout and redfish I can catch this year. I've bought baseball pitch counters and have one for trout and one for redfish. Just an experiment that probably won't last, but so far the tally is Redfish: 2, Trout: 0. I didn't need them today, but will have them on the belt in future trips. I've got to find some batteries for the camera, but will post pics here shortly.

Enjoyed the trip Casey. :D

Like I say, one net=one assist. When the skunk won't let go, ya gotta take what ya can git! :-D

From what I gather the reds were more abundant to the north yesterday.

Funny how when I got there Robbie Green, Tom Keels, and Jump Trout were fishing right where we caught them the last two weeks.

They got zero bites all day much like the other reports we heard at the end of the day.
Funny, I don't remember fishing.
