Has anyone ever used one of these? I just bought a new Push Pole and am considering using one of these....

I have used this push pole 'anchor' device. I did not use it where there was any significant current, only on flats where water movement was minimal. It did work: word of caution, the pole had a tendence to bind in the unit and had to be careful removing as the stress of the boat weight pull against the pole posed a sometime interesting release....did scuff up the pole. Now, in fairness, might have been the operator....

Heres my thought process........A Power Pole is around $1800 installed :o (and theres only so much I can slide by the warden) so I am going to use one of these (Home Made $35) and a 18' Stakeout/Push pole ($100)for a while....then maybe upgrade my trolling motor to a Minn Rip 80 Remote.....this way I can fish from the pole-nnn platform. Then when the guys at power pole recoupe all there design/development cost and or compitention knocks on there door and the price comes down to a more realistic level.....then I will add one of those little gems......

Check out the cajun anchor. Costs about $100.00 including shipping, won't break your pole and will hold the boat as long as you are in soft bottom.  Powerless powerpole.
