Is it just me or has anyone else had problems with this product? I just respooled two of my reels with PowerPro, it cost more but it has got to be better. I've been breaking off alot and if this doesn't work I'll go back to mono.

Used Spider Wire Fushion. After a 1/2 dozen or so trips the line would knot easily, and not stay tight. I trashed a spool on a previous trip and that was all she wrote for the SW. Went back to mono.

Tried to use it Bass Tournament Fishing a few years ago. Basically in my opinion. IT SUCKS. Let it get a small nick and it will break faster than mono. Plus you need a spinning reel that's designed for the stuff for it to work right. It'll knot, twist, and just plain turn to crap in short order.

I use PP on spinning rods (for kings) and it works great. I haven't had any knots/twists in it yet.

I use P-Line extra strong and it's great stuff. It's a composite like PP and it costs less. I have not used PP. I have not found P-Line locally. I'm I used to use Ande tournament.

P-Line is available here in a number of tackle stores. I've used it and liked it, but when your spooling up three or four rods with 200+ yards it gets pretty expensive. I started using Trilene Big Game Supreme. It's strong, memory is not too bad, and it's reasonably priced. Supreme $9.99 for 1,000 yards. verses P-Line X-tra $28.00 for a 1,000 yards. As far as Ande, it's IGF approved. That means if it's 12lb test, it won't "overtest". In other words it WILL break at 12lb. If it's not IGF it may break at 17-20lb, but very seldom breaks under 12lb. I like the line that may give me an advantage. I'm not concerned about IGF records.

OK so I'm not crazy , SW is crap. The PowerPro I put on looks like a 10 lb rope. I hope the fish like it, I'll try it Friday if I can sneak away from work early.

Power Pro is the cats meow for me but only on my Spidercast spinning reels. On others it performs just about the same as Spider wire with wind knots and such. It will work if you don't jig much and just reel with constant tension. The Spidercast reels are replacing all my Shimano and Penn reels. They are real workhorses with great strength and durability. The drags are terrific. With Power Pro and those reels I am very confident. Use a 2 foot or so flouro leader and you are in the money.

These reels have taken much saltwater abuse over several years and they still perform as new. No sloppiness or loose play anywhere. I'm more than a little impressed.........Caught the 30 pound kingfish recently on the medium sized reel and 30# PP. Whipped his butt quick and he nearly spooled me a couple of times. On the small size reels I've caught lots of trout and reds and several very nice snook down south.
