Trolling motor circuit breaker

It amazes me sometimes all the stuff I dont know. :( I was complaining to a fellow who fixes trolling motors the other day that I had burnt two out in last 5 yrs. He asked whether I had a circuit breaker protecting mine. Didnt know of such.

Now I am talking about a basic Minn Kota transom mounted one, not the high tech remote-driven ones all you sophisticated rich folk have.

Can someone clue me in on where to obtain, how to install, etc? Thanks.

I just have a small fuse box with a 50 Amp (??) fuse in it. I haven't killed anything so it seems to work :D Boater's World, Advantage, etc. should have them.

Give Advantage Marine a call. They'll fix you up.
