Had my son, dad, and a couple of his friends down for our annual trout trip. Started fishing Tuesday morning after the cold front. Wind, very little, started out of the North but, by afternoon was SE. Didn't seem to bother the trout. Had twenty-one from 15in to 24in. Wednesday, wind out of the South another twenty up to 22in. Thursday morning just as the top water action was going good several dolphins moved in and that shut off the bite. Came in at lunch with twelve up to 21.5in. Best trip by far as far as quality fish. Most of our fish came in 3'-5' of water. Water had a little color to it. Best bait was 52M mirrorlure, close second was leadhead fished real slow and for the first hour each morning a chugger was a sure bet. Red and white seemed to be the color of choice. Tried a CT without much luck. Caught a 3lb Spanish on that chugger Wednesday morning, man what a splash Picked up several bluefish and my son whipped a 31.5in. cobia on a mirrorlure fished on a 10lb test spinning outfit. The cobia survived the mirrorlure didn't Great trip with the three generations.

SC, Thats good news about the trout. Ill be at my house in carrablle this weekend. And looking foward to getting on the water. I have a date with a AJ at the yamaha reef, but would like a spec filet to go with it.

Sea Fox, You shouldn't have any trouble finding the AJs at the Yamaha. We were there Saturday and they were thick. Most of them were running around 27" We did get three keepers up tp 33". We just had to go through about a dozen to find them. Man them Ajs love a big hardtail.

Man that sounded like some good fishin right there. If you don't mind telling us, where did you do most of your fishing, east or west. I've never fished that area for trouts & such and I'd like to learn a little bit about it. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. CBASS

Dad's 75th coming up and heading down to the lake.
