Keaton...dont know why

Don't know why but had the itch to go to Keaton
Actually, was under the weather Monday/Tuesday but felt pretty damned good for Wed when the forecast was sunny and 0-5
T and I got to Keaton about 10:00, very low on the way out as previously reported.

First area we found some nice reds...tailing! They were very shallow toward shore, and the wind was from the E head on to us (couldn't just ride the tide). Saw many tailing reds which was very exciting, but they would dissappear on approach. Tailed out there 150+ feet away. Needed a pole real bad in this situation. They just wouldnt stand for any motor noise. When they dropped tail, if you got a cast anywhere near them they would bolt. Just edgy.

Then it clouded up which made bumping reds pretty frustrating.
Sun peaked out here and there and I found this 23" guy in a sand hole. Dropped the fly a foot from his head and he charged and engulfed another of Noles expert flies.

Clouds came back and I never saw another fish. Stuck with the fly rod blind casting but no luck...had some fun running and taking picts.

Can't wait till next time...Dang that is sweet watching them inhale the fly
