Saturday after the social we launched my buddy's john boat at Bottom's Road. Tried a couple holes without much success, so we headed to some grass around the island. Managed one bottom slot red. Not much going on, and the wind was blowing so we headed to bar I had some success on last winter. Quickly picked up about half dozen trout to 21" and another bottom slot red. Got me ready for the journey I was anticipating on Sunday. Light jigs were the ticket.
Sunday we launched from Keaton Breach. Worked the shoreline for a while with with only a couple trout show for the efforts. Really windy, and we ended up getting power pro tied in the tm while trying to avoid a wind knot. Unable to clear all the power pro the tm was done for the day. We headed out a little ways from shore and started drifting back throwing topwaters, jerk baits and jigs. We did several short drifts over the next few hours and caught probably 30 trout to 23" and two reds (25" and a 21 spot 19"), and a flounder. Returned home, pulled the prop off the the tm and realized we had cleared almost all of the power pro. Runs like new.
A couple good days of fishing and nothing seriously broken. Sorry no pics, but everything the fishing and weather were just tough enough that I left the camera in the case.
