Garmin 250 bottom machine questions

Post by BAD BEHAVIOR »

My front depthfinder got ahold of some bad crack or something. Its like it is in permanent demo mode. It just skip from depth to temp to range to menu and so on. Any idea what to do with it?? I was running the other day at 50+ just kinda cruisin and I happened to look up at that depthfinder(Its on the bow, not my main machine on the dash) and it was flashing 1.0. I knew I was running in shallow water but that gave me a serious sphincter cramp!! Anyways, I quickly checked the dash and I was actually in 1.8 ft. Still kinda shallow for BB, at least that fast, but It relaxed the old redeye a bit. Enough about my bum, any ideas how to fix or reset the dang thing??????

My 240 will do that if it looses the connection with the transducer

removeing the tranducer on some units will put the into "simulate" mode to keep the transmitter from getting fried....

Could you unplug the unit from the front and plug it to the transducer on the back to see if that fixes da problem?

I talked with Garmin and got the reset code. Start with power off. Hold down right arrow, menu ,down arrow, then power all at one time until power turns on. That should reset all factory settings. Worked on mine! BB
