I was cleaning through some of the stuff may dad left when they moved and found this...


I don't know if any of you read the article in Florida SPortsman a few months ago about the development of these kits.
The article is titled Miami Anglers Helped Save the World Live-saving tackle and skills helped turn the tide of World War II.

My dad was not in WWII so it was probably one of his brothers....
Just thought it was cool and wanted to share.

That is awesome Bman. I read that article when that issue came out and thought to myself that it would be cool to actually get my hands on a kit. This looks like a manual from one of the smaller kits. What branch of the military where your uncles/uncle in? This looks like Navy or Air Force Pilot to me.

One flew B-29's... I'm guessing the booklet was his.
The other was a flight instructor.

My dad was about 10 years younger than they were- a surprise baby.
Too young for WWII too old for Korea.

awesome Barry. The text is pretty interesting...but makes you wonder about the info given to our military men.

tie a piece of flannel or a piece of wood to hook to imitate a struggling minnow...those fish must not have seen the same pressure as the fish out of St. Marks.

I liked the last paragraph as well..."Native tribes live for generation in the open air...you can too."
