Kayaks and Anchoring

I have a few questions for the veteran kayakers out there. How often do you use an anchor while fishing? Whats the best type / size anchor to use? Finally... Is it even necessary to anchor while yaking? My yak came with a lightweight "mushroom" looking anchor that is practically useless. Thanks.

I use a 2.2 lb Lewmar anhor cause it bites the bottom really well, and the neck fits in a rod holder behind my seat. I use it in water that is deeper than my stakeout pole is long and that is usually 5 feet or more. I use an anchor trolley to lay the boat up in the current. It allows me to position the anchor on the boat to lay me up in the direction I want ot be in. We use that because we are in the middle of the kyak and cannot walk to the front or rear of the boat.
ANCHOR TROLLEY
I USE A FLOAT ON THE ANCHOR AND A CLIP SO I CAN UNCLIP TO CHASE FISH AND COME BACK TO THE ANCHOR.
