I have been hearing stories all week of people catching a lot of bass on Lake Munson so I gave it a shot this morning. The bass were holding really tight to the cypress trunks and the old duck blinds. Water was 65 degrees.
I had to compete with this girl:

My dad has a great story about Munson...
He moved to Tallahassee from Quincy as a kid...
My Grandpa was looking for a place to fish and heard about a guy who let people fish the river that ran along his property for $1 a day.
Well the family headed over there and proceeded to catch a wash tub full of fat catfish.
The took em home and fried them up

all the time excited about the great fishing hole they had found.
About a month later someone told them they were fishing the outflow from Munson- just below the sewage plant...
That was in the 40's- I shiver when i think what was flowing into Munson back then!
My dad tells that story almost every time we drive by the lake

Not a one. It didn't look like the blinds had been used in a couple of years.

That is so weird...I wish I knew what happened to that lake, I went sat and only saw a couple woodys at day break...10 years ago there wasn't a better place to hunt ducks in Tally.

Did you catch any fish?
What time were you out there? I fished from daybreak until about one on Saturday and only caught one 3 pound bass on a spinnerbait and a big ol' pickerel on a Rapala.
