Fished Saturday out of Keaton beach. Beautiful day out there. On the water by 7:15 a.m. started catching trout shortly thereafter. Had 10 keepers and 20 or so throwbacks by 12:00 then the catching shut down. Average size was about 18 inches, but we had one just shy of 24 inches. Also put a few rock bass in the cooler. Caught most of the fish in 6-9 ft. water. Used grubs with Cajun Thunder popping cork and about 3-4 foot of leader. Colors were chicken bone, electric chicken, neon mercury, and white curly tail grub with pink tail. Caught 1 keeper trout on live pin fish. Fished mainly 300-500yards behind the 1st bird rack. Great day can't wait to go back.

Birddog and Shaggy, I'm glad yau'll did good Saturday, cause Sunday wasn't worth a flip. Hot, no wind , and a slooooowwwwww bite. We tried the same place yau'll were and couldn't catch squat. Let's look at Sunday, the 8th for St. Joe. I'm there if yau'll want to try it. Let me Know.

Birddog, did ya'll fish north or South of Keaton. I was there three days. had a tough time. Waited too long to go to deep water. Kept thinking the cooler water temp would keep em shallow in the grass. I was wrong. Finally gave up and ran deep on Sunday.

CSMarine,
We were North of where you come out of the canal at Keaton B. If you were to come out of the canal and go around the pier and rocks to the right and follow the channel markers out , we were fishing about 300-500 yards behind that first bird rack. We would start our drift there and go down towards the piney islands you can see in the distance.
