Lanark 3-16

Post by Talltails »

Flounderpounder and I fished the Team Seatrout tourney today. We went back to an area near Lanark where we caught some beefy trout last week. Most of 'em were gone, but we still caught lots of trout between 14" and 21". Most fish were caught on soft jerk baits. The flounder even got in on the action, with several up to about 18" boated. We also saw some spanish feeding earlier in the morning. We fished hard and didn't catch any big'ns, but still did well enough to place 5th out of about 20 boats. Congrats to JT51 on his win. He caught some impressive fish today.

This BLINDHOG fished TeamSeatrout tournament number 91 today. The only person to fish every SeaTrout tournament held.
The first 3 years was dominated by licensed guides such as, Randle Leger,Randy Peart,Tom Erle,Jerry Alexander,Hugh Lilliout,Ty Smith,Junior Dice,Vic Davis,Ashley Mock and several more.
Everyone fishing then and now did what they could to learn from these people while competing against them. Most of those people no longer fish TeamSeatrout. In their words "the competition has gotten too strong".
We have all become better fishermen because of TeamSeatrout.
I have seen the same results in NFGFC tournaments. NFGFC members have improved their fishing skills because of NFGFC tournaments.
Tournaments are not as much about competing and winning, as they are about learning.
Then, sooner or later, after competing and learning, you begin to win.
No matter what...you become better fishermen.
