Skunked at Carrabelle 3-20-08

Had an offshore trip planned for today with Bman......the W-I-N-D had other plans for us. Me and my buddy Raymond decided to go look for trout in the river and see if the wind would lay down as forecasted. It didn't....
We didn't get the first bite anywhere in the river. We moved out on to the flats and went east towards Lanark. Fished a drift in 4 ft. for 30 minutes with not the first bite. Decided to go try the shrimp boat at the west end of Dog Island. Tried there for 45 minutes....nothing. Moved over to an area just south of SGI. Nothing. Water was really dirty....just like over near Lanark. Ran over to Carrabelle Beach and tried a drift in 4-6 ft. for 30 minutes......water really dirty and no bites. We decided to lick our wounds and head back to the river.
As soon as we hit the no wake zone, Bman calls and says he's 10 minutes from us and wants to go out on the water with the wife and friends. We met them at C-Quarters and headed back out.
Since we couldn't catch any fish all day, much less a friggin bite, I asked Bman if he had any suggestions. We went over to his "honey hole" but it was empty too. Except for a nice sandbar
I wasn't any big deal though....me and Raymond just jumped out and pushed us off
We ran back out towards the west end of DI and then back in to Carrabelle. Weather was nice and sunny....with less wind and a few fish it would have been a nice day. Still beat work.....gonna go back & try again in about 7 hours.....
