had my 2 brother in-laws down for 4 days at Keaton.....weather was the biggest factor for our trip
3/19.......bad bad winds all day fished almost all day around marker 5, had 10 trout to 19" and 2 spanish, lost a good red right at the boat.....Cajun thunders with blue pepper jerk shads was the bait of the day
3/20........bad but not as bad winds greeted us again, but from the opposite direction, fished from the dogshead to spring warrior and was only able to find 2 trout a 1 blue all day....straight jigging a gulp jerk shad
3/21........ better weather but still cool most of the day.....tried for reds just north of spring warrior until about 2pm, then headed out to try for some trout in some deeper water straight out from otter creek...went to 5.5 foot of water a and found the fish ,,,,,we caught between 60-80 fish in 2.5 hours keeping 13 keeper trout to 19" and 1 flounder.......straight jigging gulp new penny shrimp......
3/22........best day of the trip !!!!! went back to the same place as yesterday and they were still there!!!! thank the lord for GPS!!!! new penny gulp on a jighead, until the wind slacked down enuff for a gold renegade jerkbait and a skitterwalk...
only fished until noon, kept our limit of 15 from 17 to 22"....with the biggest fish coming on the renegade ...the tide being out made our 5.5 from the prior day into a 3.5 depth......but the fishing was fast and furious, numerous multiple hooks with us all reeling in fish at the same time, caught over 100 trout before we were flooded by the "binocular fisherman".....may have had a lot to do with us yelling and laughing so loud!!!!!! amazing how you can be drifting by yourself all morning and within an hour you have to make sure you dont drift into 25 other boats!!!!! ended the day with 15 trout 2 spanish and 1 blue
