Keaton 3/22, PSJ 3/23 and St Marks 3/30

Hey Folks,
Sorry I have been slacking on the posts, but I wanted to provide a couple updates:
Keaton-fished the tourney with my dad who was visiting from the Buckeye state. Headed north out of Keaton to some structure where I had caught several nice trout about a month earlier...notta. JT and Butch were nearby and it didn't look like they were doing much either. We headed a little further north and the old man picked up a flounder on a jerk bait, still no trout. Headed out deeper and put the first keeper in the box 15.5". Caught several more 14-15". With tide having come in pretty nicely returned to the orginal spot. Caughta 3 or 4 nice reds and hung a good trout that spit the hook at the boat. Headed back towards the channel but stopped over some nice looking grass in 4 feet of water. Landed a couple more 15.01" fish, but decided we didn't have anything worth weighing and since we were trying to make a speedy get-away for St. Joe. released the one we had and headed for weigh-in.
PSJ-Stayed on the Cape Saturday night, Sunday and Monday. Wind was howling the entire time and never dunked the boat. Did do a little surf fishing hoping for a pompano, nothing. The beach restoration process has begun, and I'll post some pics this evening. It's is pretty serious operation with some heavy equpment. Supposedly progress of 200'/day is anticipated which would mean the equipent will move passed any house in 2 working days. I was suprised to see it all starting on Easter weekend. Appears they are dragging all the equipment from stump hole down the beach rather than accessing the beach from the Park.
St. Marks-After running into JT and crew at the gas station, Matt and I lauched out of St Marks and were greated by a stiff wind. Took a while to travel east into the wind and get close to shore. I started throwing a top water and immeadiately caught a 20" trout despite a drift that was hurried by the wind. About 5 casts later a huge explosion and I boat a 25" pig that bent a hook on my new Skitterwalk. I threw top waters and jerk baits most the day while Matt threw Gulps. We did this all day both of us catching, but the majority of the nice fish came on topwater. Caught probably half a dozen fish over 20" and countless slot fish. Hardly any shorts. Kept one 20" for fish tacos. Pics to come.
Headed on vacation this week and won't make the tourney. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Seems like spring is upn us.
