I thought Sunday was supposed to be ok weather, but the weather man was wrong again...imagine that... but we got to the lighthouse at about 9, put the boat in, headed out and right when we got out of the idle the bottom fell outta the sky...
so at first we said screw the rain were goin fishin, but then when the lightning started poppin all around us we said we better go wait...so back to the truck for a little   to ease the pain.
Got a few in us and said we were goin fishn at about 11 or so. headed east and got absolutly soaked. ..
Got into the fish pretty good catchin 30-40 or so up to 22".. fished for not much over 2 hrs and had 2 limits...payed off for us.. new penny were the trick as always for me.
On the way home weather got pretty nice so we decided to not waste a weekend day and went out to talquin to see if we could get on a mess of blue gills--ended up with 30 sumthin..not to bad of a day, and great time management too! had some grilled trout and fried bream for din..... :lick: :lick:
headed back out as soon as this dang clock will say 430..

I know your not supposed to ask, but could ya give us a general area you were at what ya used. I know we are in that weather change period, but I have been os so skunked, other than shorts. I got a new boat, use live bait, gulp, top water, ct, you name it. What the heck am I doin wrong? I was more successful with my old used and battered boat - Thanks - Peace

April + Beer/Patience = Trout.

Trout + Talquin = Many beers.

Not in weather like that. It will have to be a really nice, sunny, no chance of rain, 1-2 ft. sea's kinda day before you see my arse back out in the St. Marks area. :-D

He said it all fishsticks...but we've been findin them in 3-5 where there's good grass....find the thickest grass and drift with it with a ct and new penny...you'll get alot of shorts but hang in there, the big ones are mixed in to....also try fishin earlier in the am or later in the pm, thats when weve done the best.
