TOGGLE SWITCH

This may be a dumb Q.. I have a spreaderlight i added to my T top, and i bougt a on/off toggle switch for it.. it has to pins on the back.. are they both positive leads, one in one out, to work as an interrupter?

All the switch does is stop the flow of current. It doesn't matter which wire (+/-) you hook on which pin.

Just in an abundance of caution to clarifiy....it doesn't matter which wire as long as it's the SAME wire on both posts. Best practice would say to run the power wire in and out of the switch rather than the ground.

Well you wouldn't want power running to the lights and interrupt the ground with the switch. The lights should always be grounded and the power running from the battery to the switch then the switch to the lights.
Never energize the appliance and switch the ground.
