13 of our bass club members fished Seminole on Saturday.
The day started out bad. It was raining when we got there. Fast Freddie decided to go to Spring creek, through the cut. He had just gotten through the no wake zone and got his boat back up on plane when 2 boats came running at him from the Spring Creek end of the cut. They must not have known the rules of boat operation. They couldn't decide which side to pass him on. One went to one side, and the other to the other. Bottom line is they ran him out of the run and into the stumps. Cracked his hull, and busted his lower unit. No motor the rest of the day. He fished his way back to Jacks with the trolling motor.
The wind picked up after the rain, coming out of the west. The lake was white capping, with few places to hide. I'll mention that this the first bass club tournament in 5 years I didn't pre fish . I was fishing blind. My partner and I decided it was either a tough day, or we had no clue what the fish were doing. At the end of the day my partner had 1 fish that weighed 2.12 pounds and I had 2 fish that totaled 3 pounds even. At the weigh in we found out it was a tough day. The winner had 2 fish that totaled 5.23 pounds. My 3 pounds was good enough for second place. My partner's 1 fish was good enough for fifth place. Six of the thirteen struck out.
It was a miserable fishing day, with the rain and wind. I'd do it again tomorrow.
