Amelia Island - 2nd hand report 4/26/08

Spent 3 nights on a very windy Amelia Island. Had a chance to talk to two guys who were surf fishing with shrimp. As of 4:00 or so they had caught 2 small whiting and a catfish.
The pier at Ft. Clinch is closed for repair right now. Saw several people fishing at the beach by the Fort but did not get a chance to speak with anyone. If I get to go back that is the spot I would choose. The water is much calmer and you can cast out much further.
