PSJ Weekend Report

Fished with the "Blind Hog" crew Friday and had a decent scouting day, Casey already covered the details in his other post.
Saturday was a little better weather wise and we headed out at daylight with the rest of the fleet. Caught a few decent fish early and had 5 trout by 9:00am then the bite stopped completely. Changed plans and headed back to fish the south end of the bay and drifted toward the middlegrounds. One of the FLW guys posted up to our east about 200 yards so we were hoping the redfish would show up. Never saw any reds but did manage to stick a couple of 22" trout and a handful of 19's and 18's to give us our second limit and a decent stringer to weigh. Decided to call it quits on the trout fishing and go hunt some reds around noon. With the overcast sky I decided to pull a new Super Spook out and try some topwater. Hooked two more decent trout and finally got a big blow up from a red that peeled a ton of line and had us running in circles around the boat. Blake was already calling him the "money winner" but when he got to the boat he was sideways and upside down with the hooks buried in the hind section of a monster 19" puppy red
Ended up with a 11.5 lb stringer and a 4th place finish for the day. Thanks to everyone for making Saturday a great tournament and congratulations to all the winners!!!
