Met Birddog at Casa Del Dawg Friday night with the Ghostrider in tow. Had plans on meeting everyone at Main Stay, but the bourbon and beer flowed to quickly on our first stop at Casa Del Barhopr. We listened to Tincan tell us how he was tickled pink. Barhopr wanted to know what tickle pink looked like, we had a good laugh or two with that.

We awoke the next morning to a nice stiff breeze from the south. We headed to the ICW and headed west in search of something to pull on our string. First stop was greeted with sand gnats and the faint sound of a deep throated outboard in the distance. The sound of a Lake and Bay coming by at 60 mph was a sight to be hold...about five minutes later Tadd and Blair came humming by.

We fished a few spots with only a few trout to show for our efforts. I hooked a nice trout that came off at the boat as we were trying to land it by hand. Birddog landed the first slot red that went 6.25 lbs. It was dead most of the day with the exception of a trout here and there. Ended up catching several reds to 32" and a few more slot fish. We estimate we had 12 or so pounds on the day (3 pounds less than what we had last weekend). We probably had the same on trout, I caught one trout that went 4.5 lbs and had one with it that would have eaten the 4.5 lb fish, it was an awesome fish.

We ended the day with quick dash to the ramp in front of the rain. We had an interesting sight in the ICW. There were three boats tied up and bouncing around...there appeared to be adult beverages being consumed and some dancing was going on. We should of filmed it, but we didn't.

We got cleaned up and ate some fine food at Dock Side Cafe and called it a night.

Day Two - We stopped at the Chevron across from Toucan's and was greeted by make shift rooster calls and loud talk. Seems the party from Saturday night had continued on through the night at this beach house and it was 6:00 in the morning. :o

Slide the Ghostrider into the bay and headed off knowing it was post front conditions. That was the pattern through the day. Fished alot of bank today to only see fleeing reds or reds not interested in eating. I think we caught two or three rat reds and a few very nice trout. We saw two good schools of reds, but they were on high alert and wouldn't eat.

It was good to be on the water, we confirmed our plan for this week, hopefully the fish are still there (reports say they are and unmolested).

I enjoyed the weekend Birddog...Can't wait for the coming weekend.

Should have seen the latter that they were fishing with I would have been spooked on that things in the drive way much less been sitting on top of that that thing in two feet of water all day. It was amazning and running on top of it. Travis tanner has bigger balls than me.

I believe we have done our homework, but the reality of tournament fishing can be summed up in this one paragraph:
Consider that in 85 events, Larry Nixon has won three times (4 percent) and been in the top 10 a total of 13 times (15 percent). Clark Wendlandt has three wins (3 percent) in 107 events, while Luke Clausen is two for 41 (5 percent). Million-dollar man Scott Suggs has only one win, in addition to the Forrest Wood Cup, in 45 events over the last 12 years of fishing BFL, Stren Series and FLW Tour events. Jay Yelas, the 2007 FLW Tour Angler of the Year, has yet to win a single FLW event in 44 tries. And these are the good guys!
