This is pretty cool. I was browsing through On Demand and noticed a short clip about a guy catching redfish in Louisiana with a fly and on a kayak. I also noticed that this guy was paddling a Native Ultimate 12 just like mine

This is a really cool clip though and it really shows the versatility of the Native. Not to mention the MASSIVE redfish......

He did say you had to hitch on a ride on a boat to get out there right?

I am not really sure if that was necessary or not. I know that he rented the kayak from that guy but surely there was a place to put in close enough to paddle to the location. Regardless, he did choose to hitch a ride.

My boat has to hitch a ride on its trailor to the ramp every time I go fishing. One advantage a boat has over a kayak is the ability to move to several different spots if the fish aren't biting in a particular location. I can tell you though, there's nothing like having a big fish like that pull you all around in a kayak. It's a totally different fishing experience.

Being on the fly does take it up a serious notch.

I saw this a couple of months ago on Vs. - the guy lucked out getting that fish on his last day. I was keenly interested in it because I paddle an Ultimate 12 as well. Hopefully one day I'll get to hook into a red that size in my kayak. I'm taking a charter with this guy next January - won't be out of a kayak, but should still be loads of fun if the weather's decent.
